Montreal, April 22, 2015 – In the next three months, Marquis will invest $2 million to increase capacity and flexibility in its fleet of equipment at its Montmagny and Louiseville facilities.

With this initiative, Marquis is confirming its confidence in the book and bound publications sector, and is adding the best printing technology to its existing fleet of high performance equipment. Marquis continues to grow in the printing markets in Quebec, Canada, the United States and Europe.

Three sectors of Marquis Book Printing’s production will see the addition of seven pieces of new, cutting-edge equipment.

First, in digital printing, Marquis’ flexibility and capacity will be increased for short runs, microruns and one-copy-at-a-time Print on Demand (POD).

Serge Loubier, President of Marquis, notes, “We are happy to announce the launch of our new Xerox  IGEN 150 press. This state-of-the-art equipment offers both existing and potential customers increased flexibility for printing small quantities between 1 and 600 copies, and sometimes more for printing covers.”

Mr. Loubier also points out that “this latest-generation digital press offers our customers breathtaking colour print quality with a resolution of 250 lpi.” To further boost its digital printing capabilities, Marquis will acquire a Xerox DCP 770 press and an OCÉ Varioprint 6250 pressfor its monochrome work.

The second activity sector to receive additional equipment is offset printing, where Marquis is looking to expand its printing capacity with the acquisition of a new Timson T-32 – 1 colour printer.

Lastly, binding and other related activities will be increased with the addition of equipment. “We can confirm the launch of an additional high‑performance binding line, the Muller[RY1]  Martini Normbinder, with twenty-seven 48-page pockets. Adding this equipment brings our total binding capacity to over 1 million books per week. A K-800-KTZfolder will also allow us to increase our folding capacity threefold and a robotic HT30blade in our Montmagny facility rounds out our investment.”

The President of Marquis Book Printing concludes: “Our equipment strongly supports our signature work and our customer promise, the art of finding your solution, and allows us to continue our pursuit of operational excellence. Our 325 employees specialized in books and bound publications will therefore be equipped with the best tools to give our customers better turnaround times and prices.

“Bring us a challenge and you will see the Marquis difference.”
